Racheal Chagonja is a Sustainability and Governance Specialist with over a decade of experience in institutional leadership, policy reform, and resource governance. She is recognized for her ability to drive systemic change across extractive industries, NGO coordination, and institutional governance, aligning organizational missions with evolving sustainability and accountability standards.
Her expertise spans policy reform, extractive governance, institutional strengthening, and sustainability planning, where she has successfully led high-impact initiatives on transparency, accountability, climate change, gender equity, human rights, and local content development. Racheal has spearheaded advocacy campaigns that influenced national and international policy frameworks within the extractive sector, while also presenting research and policy papers on governance and sustainability at regional and global platforms.
Deeply rooted in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), she promotes responsible business practices, inclusive community engagement, and resilient institutional systems. Her leadership has been instrumental in coordinating actors to strengthen governance ecosystems and advance sustainable development goals.
Racheal has collaborated extensively with development partners such as the World Bank, international NGOs, Academia, Communities and local institutions, driving reforms that enhance governance credibility, social inclusion, and sustainable resource management. These partnerships have fostered accountability frameworks and institutional reforms that continue to shape Tanzania’s governance landscape and beyond.
As a strategic leader and mentor, Racheal is committed to empowering teams and nurturing emerging leaders in governance and sustainability. She fosters cultures of collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement, embedding mentorship and adaptive leadership into her organizational and consultancy work.
Currently pursuing her PhD in Natural Resource Assessment and Management, Racheal continues to influence policy and practice across Tanzania and internationally, championing responsible resource governance, institutional resilience, and sustainable development.

Dr. Salem Dawit is a seasoned public health and development consultant with over 20 years of experience strengthening health systems and advancing gender-responsive programming across Africa, gulf and the Pacific. She specializes in maternal, child, and adolescent health, reproductive health, and immunization—including HPV vaccine delivery—and has worked with partners such as the World Bank and UNICEF to drive impactful, community-focused initiatives.
Salem is known for her strategic, pragmatic approach to program design and evaluation, and she is deeply passionate about advocacy for women’s health, championing equitable access to services and meaningful policy reforms that improve outcomes for women and girls.
